Rob's Do It Yourself Guide to EFT |
Here it is--a simple yet incredibly powerful tool you can learn in minutes, and use on yourself, your family and friends, whenever and wherever you need it most. And it's free! How awesome is that? |
We start with the set up statement: Even though I have this ________, I deeply and completely accept myself. If you have a headache you would say 'Even though I have this headache, I deeply and completely accept myself'. Say this three times while tapping the karate chop point with your finger tips. Next, starting at the top of the head, tap each point five to seven times while repeating 'this headache' over and over. For the eye, collar bone, and under arm points you can tap just one side, or both together. For the wrist point, you can tap one side with your fingers or tap your wrists together. Don't worry about being super accurate with the points, you'll get them. And you don't need to tap very hard. Don't beat yourself up! A whole round takes about a minute to do-it's really that simple. |
Before you start, it can be very helpful to try and measure how intense your issue is on a scale of 0 to 10. If you aren't sure, just guess. This way you can measure your progress. Believe it or not, you may begin to forget just how bad your issue was when you started. If you don't get down to zero the first round, do another, and another. Keep at it-persistence really pays off. It's tempting to stop short, once we get down to a 2 or 4 and feel some real relief, but really go for that zero. If you don't seem to be getting anywhere, go back to the set up statement. The more specific your issue or memory, the better EFT tends to work. Really emphasize that 'deeply and completely accept myself' part. If you really can't bring yourself to make that statement, you can say "I'd like to deeply and completely accept myself". A complex issue may have many aspects to it-as the first one diminishes in intensity, new ones may begin to pop up. Try to stay with the original issue or aspect until you get it down to zero. A really big issue may demand focus and persistence-one reason why a skilled practitioner can be really helpful! You can (and should!) try EFT on anything and everything bothersome to you. Gary Craig has a website full of amazing resources (including a free 80 page manual to download). From the website you can also subscribe to his free weekly newsletter. I strongly recommend checking it out. But don't wait to try EFT. Try it right now!! |
